The Wayne Girls Tennis Team continued its successful season by winning the GWOC Silver Tournament this weekend in Troy. The team out scored 9 other teams to win the 10 team tournament. The team out scored Northmont, by 2 points, avenging a loss to them earlier in the season. The Warriors were led by their two doubles teams who both earned first place in their division. The first doubles team of Maddi Blackwell/Katelin Bourquin and the second doubles team of JaNae' Parker/Leah Weston won all of their matches very convincingly in their route to the championship. In singles, Edith Chu earned 3rd place in first singles, Gloria Pappaterra was 4th in second singles, and Elly Shellhaas was 3rd in third singles.
Good luck to the team as they play in the Sectional Tournament on Wednesday in Troy.
